Extra ordinary movie 2019 letterboxd movie#
I feel like this is a movie that's impossible to "rate" because of the harrowing and deeply intimate subject matter. Had an ok week, wish i watched more though.ĭear Zachary: A Letter to a Son About His Father (2008) Incredibly sad and frustrating watch. Whatever, it was enjoyable for what it was.) That doesn’t really make the film any more impressive, as I don’t really know if Guy Ritchie’s dry wit and odd editing choices take the film as far as it could go. (2015) - 3/5 (So this is what all the fuss is about-it’s from a director people like that isn’t working for hire. For fans of The King of Comedy and Tony Scott.) The Fan (1996) - 3.5/5 (Hidden gem of the week. Or anything John Woo gets buried under being an explosive blockbuster.) Or maybe the setting feels too vast for its own good. Feels too much like a set-up for the more enjoyable Face/Off to be taken well on its own, though, what with the film throwing Travolta’s camp at me while trying to play this stuff straight. Christopher Nolan made a lovely blockbuster about the function of dreams, and it works in so many ways already covered by others.)īroken Arrow (1996) - 2.5/5 (John Woo schlock. Inception (2010) - 4.5/5 (Not the kind of movie that messes with your head the way others claim it is, but undeniably entertaining regardless-partially because it engages you in a way that feels as if it's messing with your head. Though I’ll check out the sequel at some point in hopes of something more interesting, to say the least.) For Sony’s Marvel adaptations, just stick with Spider-Man. Ghost Rider (2007) - 2/5 (No surprise this movie is more watchable than Mark Steven Johnson’s other superhero flick Daredevil, but it really is a lame start to a franchise on many levels-seriously, the editing feels so wrong-despite its merits like the FX and general look of the film. Mixed bag, but more on the pleasant side. Was expecting to dive into more movies this week but this will do nicely.
